It is my goal to get into every classroom as often is possible, usually 8 -10 times per year in grades 2-5. I am in Kindergarten and 1st grade classrooms weekly.
In classroom lessons, we cover a variety of topics, including bullying, friendship, communication skills, diversity, cooperation, respect, responsibility, citizenship, feelings and emotions, honesty, conflict resolution, self-esteem, and much more.
Check out just a few of the cool things we've done in class!!
Bullying
Each year, our classes spend a few weeks at the beginning of the year discussing bullying. In previous years, grades 3, 4 and 5 , have taken the survey below to give us a better idea of where we stand on this issue. Feel free to download it and talk to your kids about it!

We often talk about citizenship in 5th grade. Our 5th graders learn all the different ways we can show citizenship at home, at school and in our communities!

Honesty
In 1st grade, we read the book Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire and have a discussion about honesty and trustworthiness. At the end of the lesson, students get to color this picture of Pinocchio!
